Mackie

Made in Scotland Since 1845
Robert Mackie originally opened in 1845 making traditional Scottish Glengarry and Balmoral headwear, “Bonnets” and since then, we have grown to become a leading Scottish knitwear manufacturer. Proud that our knowledge & expertise has been passed down through generations of makers, our Balmoral and Glengarry dress bonnets are still manufactured in Stewarton today and worn by clans and pipers around the world. Not only do we continue to manufacture the traditional Scottish headwear we are globally known for, but over the years our range has grown and we are now also recognised for our luxury knitted hats, scarves and gloves.
Drawing on the rich textile heritage of Ayrshire, we craft indulgent modern wardrobe classics, and have become famous for our quality and use of vibrant colour in these products. We offer both a wholesale accessory collection for retailers, and work closely with many historic British brands to develop and manufacture their bespoke designs also. We are proud that everything we produce is “Made in Scotland”, completely manufactured in house, and that we continue to work only in natural yarns to produce renewable and sustainable products.
